THE ART OF SRI LANKAN DRUM MAKING

๐Ÿ˜THE ART OF SRI LANKAN DRUM MAKING๐Ÿ˜

...........The art of drumming in my country, with its great history is very important. It has lasted from the past to the present with different changes. When talking about drumming in Sri Lanka, an important part is making the drums. They are mostly made using types of wood. For example, the traditional drums of Sri Lanka are made from different types  of wood.
Among the types of wood used for making drums are jackwood, kitul wood, and coconut wood......

Among them are drums such as the Geta Bera, Yak Bera, Davula, and Thammattama.

Another special part of drum making is using different animal skins to make sound. Animal skins such as cow, goat, and monkey are commonly used for this. These traditional drums are popular in Sri Lanka’s dance and music. This amazing art is another symbol of our country’s identity.........
